Today I needed to transform an old book into something new. I decided to use an old theater lighting book that I had in my classroom. The technology is incredibly outdated, so I didn't feel bad about cutting it up. The lighting instruments are cut out of the book as well as the tools in the octopus's tentacles. I folded and layered the paper to get it to stand up and used graffiti style duck tape as the backdrop. The octo-techie (theater technical octopus) was drawn and shaded with colored pencils then cut out and glued together to make it more 3D.
